iTunes 8.0 on Linux

Install iTunes 8, Notepad ++, Steam, Command and Conqueror 3, and a bit more as easy as an apt-get with Play on Linux. They have plenty of binarys, from Ubuntu to Gentoo, and the entire thing is wizard based, for ultimate ease.

Clogging the Pipes

Watching a how-to on the new-ish Yahoo Pipes program, and I've got to say, this looks sweet. Anyone who knows about Peacock or even Automator (a mac program) would recognize this kind of design.

So far, I've only made a Lifehacker RSS feed that doesn't contain anything about Chrome or the iPhone, reducing the unread badge in your reader considerably, saving you time, and the lives of many pandas. Nothing against either of those, it just seemed like the easiest thing I could make, still being slightly useful.

The world is just a little bit happier now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to save it (receiving a parse error), so no love today.

Brushes, Extentions and Textures, Oh My!

Despite the lacking title, I would consider myself a creative professional, or at least a creative dude. That being said, anyone with a box of crayons can tell you that it often seems a long journey from your vivid imagination to a blank canvas. Like waking up from a wicked cool dream, it takes a few minutes to completely loose your original idea. Others, though, are able to hold onto their masterwork of a vision for months, but still have trouble with hand-brain coordination--turning smooth circles and fiery reds into the motor left and right.

Between this, that and being just plain lazy, I would argue for the importance of at least a gig of specialized brushes and diverse textures. To have a beautiful forest composed entirely of someone else's trees isn't much in the way of a profound accomplishment, but having a good splatter brush for small bullet wounds or bird poop could add the right seasoning to the steak--or salad, for our San Fransisco audience.

Bla bla bla, just get to the free stuff, right?
Well, if you're going to act like that, then no toys for you.
Meh, ok, but just a few, like these ones:

stock vector graphics
and a couple goodies from Adobe themselves.

Simply for testing purposes, I want to see how well one could leach off the popularity of others. I feel that the same brand of peoples that spend their time googleing the alt text of a few very scientific case studies on modern man would be same the same few people interested in the topics I often write about and wares I have to offer humanity.

As you might notice, however, this blog is a little more empty then my bank account, with little more to offer then a blind game designer: Hope.
That being said, this blog on the whole is little more then a placeholder, originally started to take advantage of Blogger's Open ID prevideingness, and (as what Leo Laporte would call "a joiner") I signed up for blogger because I didn't already have an account.

My main blog is at http://Linkz57.podzone.net which you might notice is lacking many of the more popular aspects of most sites; namely a page. This blog was/is self hosted, and after my computer completely fried, I've never gotten around to replacing it.

Till then, I'm over here and, maybe, here at Blogger.

I _Love_ God

I love God.
But I can't love God.
i love google; the cloud is great, especially with all our mobile devices and multiple computers. the search experience is unquestionable unparalleled.
i love my family, dad, mom, brother, they're not perfect, but they're mine.
i love my toaster; it cooks the morning bagels so quickly, and while i'm off doing something else.

I can't Love God.
I can't just appreciate a value of God, or enjoy the arbitrary usefulness of God, or just go around saying that “His Grace is sufficient” and “His Power is eternal”. I can't just tell you that Jesus Loves me, and He always has and He always will.
I can't, because i love google.

You're told in Sunday School that Jesus loves all of You and you and everybody. You're told that God lives in Your Heart, and that when You die, You'll live with Him forever.
But God can't Live in your heart, because your heart only has room for blood and muscle tissue. Jesus can't love you, because the same dad that abuses you, buys you something the next day to say “sorry” and that he “loves you”.

the only reason that God Loves you, is because there's no other thing He can do in english. some people in the software business would tell you that “free beer” is nothing like “free speech”. Jesus only Loves you because “love” is the best we've got.

I try to Love God, but it's too easy just to love Him, appreciate some aspects, and wear your gold cross necklace everywhere, showing off your “jesus”, and sneering at those who don't have one. I have a cross necklace—it helps remind me sometimes of what He went through because He Loves me. sometimes I catch myself sneering, but I Pray that I won't.
I try to Love God, but it's so easy for me to forget.

I think the biggest reason that I Love God is that He Loves me. my family loves me, but still gets angry sometimes when i do something stupid, but God Loves me. how? what is “Love” that during my worst and during my best, even when i spend His money on hookers and booze, and sleep with the pigs the next day, He still loves me. beyond how, why?

I Love God.
If only for the fact that He CAN Love me, He deserves My All and all.
